Ravkeerut Chahal (125 kg) and
Prabhleen Randhawa (68 kg) are the lone representatives for the York University Lions wrestling team this season at the U SPORTS Championships.
Hosted by the Guelph Gryphons as the Guelph Gryphons Athletic Centre, Chahl and Randhawa will take to the mat on Mar. 2 against the other top wrestlers in the country.
Chahal is competing in his second U SPORTS Championships after qualifying last season. He finished in sixth place in the 125 kg division, going 1-2 before sitting out in his final match due to an injury, but is back and ready for the competition again this year.
Rookie Randhawa is heading to her first U SPORTS Championship after finishing in sixth at the OUA Championships, after going 1-3 in the 68kg division on the day. She earned a fourth place finish at the York Open on Nov. 19, and earned a sixth place finish at the TMU Open on Nov. 12.
