The York University Lions women's rugby team faced the Western Mustangs on Sunday afternoon in London,. Both teams entered the match looking for their second win of the season, with the Lions aiming to build momentum after their win last Saturday over the Trent Excalibur. 

Western quickly took control, scoring early and maintaining their lead throughout the match. The Lions fought hard, but the strength of Western's offense proved overwhelming. By halftime, Western had already put several tries on the board, with standout performances from Kennedy Johnstone and Taylor MacDonald. 

The Lions fell 74-6, with York's only points came from two penalty goals by Natashia Start in the first half. MacDonald was particularly dominant, scoring four tries and converting six times to secure the victory for the Mustangs. 

LOOKING AHEAD: 

The Lions will return home on Saturday to face the Laurier Golden Hawks, looking to secure their second win of the season. Kickoff from Alumni Stadium is set for 1:00 pm.
